Raisi condemns Pakistan blast, says terrorists seeking division among Muslims

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has condemned a bomb attack in Pakistan’s Balochistan Province that left dozens of people dead, saying that terrorists once again showed that they are seeking to create division among Muslims.

The president sent a message to his Pakistani counterpart Arif Alvi on Friday afternoon, hours after the blast hit a ceremony to celebrate the birthday anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad in Mastung, the southwestern province of Balochistan.

Raisi expressed his condolences to the Pakistani government and people.

He also condemned the terrorist attack, calling it anti-religious and anti-humane, noting that it once again showed that terrorists seek no goal, but to create division among Muslims.

The Iranian president expressed hope that the perpetrators will be identified and brought to justice as soon as possible.

He also announced the Islamic Republic of Iran’s firm readiness to cooperate with Pakistan in fighting any form of terrorism and extremism.

Raisi, meanwhile, called on the international community, the Islamic countries in particular, to react to “this criminal act” and help prevent “such bitter incidents” in future.
